You can add external documents to a job bag in various ways.  These include:

  • from the Add New dialog - this attaches the document to the Job Bag.
  • using the Attach Document button - this attaches the document directly to the Brief, Cost Sheet, or other relevant document.

Adding an external document from the Add New dialog


  1. Open the Job Bag to which you want to add an external document. 

  2. Click the Add New button on the Ribbon.



    The Add New dialog appears. 

  3. Select Ext Doc, and then click the Create button.



    The External Document screen opens. 

  4. Click on the Add External Document button.



    The Document Upload dialog is displayed.

  5. Drag and drop the file you want to attach onto the Document Upload dialog,

    You can also click anywhere on the dialog to browse for the file you want to attach.



  6.  Select Upload.

    Notice that the file has been added to the External Document section of the Job Bag tree. 



    Anyone with access to the document and sufficient access rights can perform actions on the document, such as viewing it, emailing it and replacing it.




Adding an external document using the Attach Document button


  1. Open the Job Bag you want to edit. 

  2. Locate the document to which the external file must be attached, and open it. 

    In this example, a document is going to be attached to a Cost Sheet.



  3. Click the Attach Document button on the Toolbar, and select Attach Document from the drop down list.



    The Document Upload dialog appears. 

  4. Drag and drop the file you want to attach onto the Document Upload dialog,

    You can also click anywhere on the dialog to browse for the file you want to attach.




  5.  Select Upload.

    Notice that the file has been added to the External Document section of the Job Bag tree, and the source document appears in the Related Document field.
