Adding and Editing a Business Unit


  1. Click the the Settings button on the Ribbon.

    The Configuration screen appears.

  2. Click the On the Configuration screen, click the Company Configuration group to expand it and select select Business Units.

  3. The Business Units screen appears. 
    Click the  screen appears, click the + Add New New button to add a new Business Unit.

  4. Enter the name of the division or department in the the Business Unit field, and press the Enter key.
    In this example, Research and Strategy was added as one of the agency's departments.

  5.  In the Alt Ref No field, enter a reference number to be used on the Accounting Package for this department this department (if applicable), in the Alt Ref No field.

  6. Optionally enter the the Sales GL AccPurchase GL Acc and  and Provision (WIP) GL Acc number that this Business Unit will be exported into your Accounting Unit will be posted to in your Accounting Package.

  7. Optionally Optionally select the Agency's Report Banner that  that will be used to print financial documents on Jobs where this Business Unit will be used.

    Optionally select Finance or Production Users that will form part of the workflow distribution list in the the Finance Distribution List and List and Production Distribution List List drop downs.

    The distribution list will be used to consolidate the number of workflows created in order to notify relevant users when a Business Unit they are responsible for is used. This will eliminate recreating the same workflow for each Business Unit. To set up this Workflow please follow this topic: Using Business Unit Distribution Lists in Workflows
    For this example, Francine and Kim were selected in the Finance Distribution List drop down.

  9. Check the Is Active checkbox to indicate that this is an active Business Unit.

    Click the Save button to make the changes permanent.

  1. Click in the field row you want to edit.
  2. Edit the text, or change the selection.
  3. Click the Save button to save your changesSave changes made to the screen.

  4. If you want to edit a Business Unit, click on the applicable row, make your changes and Save.

Deleting a Business Unit

  1. Click the the X Delete button to the right of the row you want to deleteto delete.
    A warning dialog appears.

    Please note that a Business Unit which is in use cannot be deleted.

  3. Click the Save button to save your changes.
