To incorporate formatting styles on a CE you need to ensure that the HTML Notes on Financial Documents feature is enabled in the Global Settings.  The purpose of this feature is to allow for Word style editing on financial documents, such as different colour text, bullets, highlighting of text, text alignment, strikethrough and different font styles.

This feature will impact the financial report displays, which impacts the client directly.  It is important that you are aware of the impact of changing the settings.  You also need to ensure that you have setup / added HTML enabled reports for any custom reports in the system.

Not all Users are able to switch this feature on or off.  This depends on the restriction of user rights. If you do not have the rights to switch it on or off, please speak to your Administrator or Finance User with the correct user rights to assist.

To see if this feature is switched on or off you will notice the difference on the Edit Notes dialog.

If enabled, you will notice all the formatting buttons that you can use.

If not enabled, you will only see the Spell Checker button.

Below are steps to show you how to enable text formatting on the CE Details or Line item notes.
